He was first called Wicked DJ but over the years his fan started calling him Winky D. He is also known as Winky D The Don, Wink D The Bigman his now called Winky D Messi WeReggae. He was given this name after Football star Messi.

His music is dancehall reggae and he mostly focus on the dancing side of these genre of music.

One of his most popular song is Usarova Bigman, this song is very popular in Zimbabwe, the video for this song has receive over 65,000 hit on Youtube.

Windy D is presently working with producers Vigilante and Layne. He made his first stage appearance in 2001 at a show which was held in Waterwells.

Before taking up singing full-time he was a DJ/selector, he used to mostly plays at backyard parties.

In an interview he was asked which dancehall reggae artiste he looked up to?. He said Beenie Man.

He came over to me when I shared a stage with him in Harare last year (2010) and told me ?Winky D you locked the place?. He said ?you?re the future of Africa?. He told me ?I have travelled all over Africa, and you are one in a million?. He told me that twice, the second time when I met him in South Africa he reminded me: ?Winky D, do you still remember my words??
