When voting for the year 2012 closed on December 31,2012. Breakthrough artiste Tommy Lee Sparta was voted as our artiste of the year 2012 with 26.7% of the votes.

Tommy Lee Sparta broke unto the music scene in early 2012 with his 'A Million' single on the Lost Angel Riddim produced by Sounique.

In second place was incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel with 21.1%. Even though he has been in Jail for over a year he has still manage to remain current with hits such as 'Best Of Dem and most recently 'Weed Smoker'.

Singjay I Octane was in thrid place with 17.3%, Octane had a number of chart topping single such as Love Di Vibes and the collab with the dancehall general Bounty Killer 'Badmind Dem A Pree'.

But there is an artiste who came in fourth place with 13.9%. This artiste is Khalilah Rose. If you should ask most reggae music lovers in Jamaica who is Khalilah Rose? They will tell you they have never heard of her. This talent roots reggae artiste has manage not only to make a name for herself internationally but also garnerd the respect of some of the biggest names in music worldwide.

I was speaking with her manager and he told me that she has only released sixteen (16) songs but here single HAIL H.I.M has made it big in Africa, USA and Europe. You can read more about her here.

Mr Vegas has the fifth postion with 7.7%, 2012 was a year full of sucess and drama in the life of Mr Vegas. First he scored big with 'Bruk It Down' and then there was the video tape incedent which on which he saw his spouse cheating on him in his own house.

In sixth place was RDX with 7.4%, RDX had a very sucessful year. They have two chart toppers 'Jump' and 'Broad Out'.

Cham even thou he had two major hit single 'Wine Up' and 'Drop It' only manage to pull in 6% of the votes.

Other artiste who we think had a very good year are Chronixx, Bounty Killer, Konshens, Tifa, Mavado and Idonia.

Artists to Watch for 2013 are Darrio, Chilando, Chronixx and Iba Mah
