Vybz Kartel’s “Western Union” an Instant Hit
After receiving rave reviews for the video Fever, the team behind Vybz Kartel’s King of the Dancehall album has followed up with a video for his new hit, Western Union.
The video continues the storyline of Fever, which can be seen as a hustler’s anthem, showing the two main characters going to pick up funds at a Western Union outlet. The video further illustrates the hustling imagery by highlighting various people in the streets trying to make ends meet.
Fans will be extremely happy to know that the album will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on June 3 rd, the same day the third instant gratification track, Colouring.
This Life, will be offered in the iTunes store. That will be in addition to the instant gratification tracks Fever and Western Union previously offered to fans.
Apple Music will offer exclusive streaming one week before the album is available for download June 10 th , a service usually reserved for major label artists and a great honour for a Jamaican artist. iTunes will be supporting the album through special marketing and promotions in a manner not typically done for reggae/dancehall.
King of the Dancehall contains never before released tracks from Vybz Kartel, all recorded by the prolific artist before his incarceration. The album is a collaborative effort between Adidjahiem Records and renowned dancehall producer Linton ‘TJ’ White of TJ Records; the album is distributed exclusively by Zojak World Wide.
