Vybz Kartel's 'King of the Dancehall' is the Biggest selling Dancehall album in a decade
The album of the decade, King of the Dancehall debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Reggae Album Charts this week.
With first-week sales of 1,867 copies in the US (according to sales tracker Nielsen Music) and over 3,000 globally, King of the Dancehall has the biggest first-week sales for a dancehall artiste in a decade.
Tracks such as Fever and Western Union have become instant favourites among Vybz Kartel ever growing fanbase and are constantly ripping up the airwaves.
Since the release of the album on June 10, 2016, the reviews are pouring in and everyone is ecstatic about this masterpiece. The album has been enjoying major international radio Play on 99Jamz in Miami and Hot 97 in New York. In addition, the album is receiving radio play on Apple Music Beats 1 and Sirius XM. Not to mention the love it has been in getting in the Caribbean and the world at large.
The 14 track album is produced by Addidjahem Records / TJ records and is made available via distributing giants Zojak World Wide. This is indeed history in the making, and no doubt King of the Dancehall will be talked about for years to come. Vybz Kartel is widely regarded for his lyrical prowess and his enigmatic character, with this album; he sits on the throne as the true king of the dancehall.
