Tommy Lee Sparta
Recording Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta is disassociating himself from an individual, who he claims is attempting to mislead the public that he is part of his Sparta unit.
According to Tommy Lee Sparta, the artiste who goes by the name Stamma Gramma Sparta, has been using his likeness and vocals in a new song about scamming without his consent.
"I hear I have a look-alike using the name Sparta, saying we are friends and singing about scamming. I do not know this bredda at all. Never see him or talk to him yet. I believe in working for what you want. I do not support any fraud of innocent people. He is jus looking a lil' hype. He is not a member of my camp," Tommy Lee Sparta told THE STAR in an exclusive interview.
The song, which has been labelled the 'scammer anthem', has been racking up views on youtube with persons lashing out at Tommy Lee Sparta for condoning a criminal act.
"Mi can only talk fi miself. A nuh my ting that, and mi no want people a say them things deh bout mi. Me nah run down no hype so mi nuh interested to brand myself as a scammer. Everybody different you zi mi, some man good wid certain tings, some man nuh need it. Seven brother, seven different mind."
Tommy Lee Sparta says he is totally opposed to the illegal practice of scamming and wants no affiliation to this individual whom he has never met.
"Him use mi voice and
mi intro fe mi song, Maniac. When mi seh 'Sparta...Yow', a dat him a use, mi hear. People a tink now say a Sparta newborn. Why him take set on me, I don't know him from nowhere. I believe that everybody deserves to get a buss so I wish him the best but leave me out of your argument," he continued.
According to Heavy D, Tommy Lee's manager, the new artiste appears to have an obsession with Tommy Lee.
"If he is the same person that is emailing me about rhythms that he built for Tommy, then he seems to be crazy and obsessed. This is pretty much stalking. I have been pestered via email, whatsapp and BBM. The person said they want to build website, design for Tommy Lee and sell his music. He called me sounding very disturbed and saying that we diss him, because Tommy Lee is voicing for everybody except him. Based on his approach, I don't want to have anything to do with him."
He continued, "I even got a call that he is angry that a producer stole his beat and voiced Tommy Lee on it and he wants credit. It would appear that he is filled with vendetta and using a gimmick with Tommy Lee's name to push it."
Arrangements are being made with You- Tube to have these videos with Tommy Lee's vocals permanently blocked from the site.
In the meantime, Tommy Lee Sparta has been receiving rave reviews for his latest single,
Spartan Angels, which features Tabeta Cshae.
