Stone Love Sound System
Stone Love sound system is 40 years old this year 2012.
Plans are already in place for an all island tour for this great veteran sound system.
According to CEO of Stone Love father "Wee Pow", The 40th anniversary will be celebrated with parties across the island of Jamaica to ensure that everyone everywhere get a taste. We have big plans to celebrate our anniversary across Jamaica. We want to ensure that everywhere, including the rural areas, get a chance to celebrate with us.
Stone also had its annual awards show on February 1, 2012 at their head quarters in Kingston, Jamaica.
The Stone Love Awards are usually held in December at the anniversary party. Last year, the organisers were unable to stage the event due to external circumstances but decided that the show must go on.
The focus of the awards party has changed a bit. This year the awards will be centred on activities 'in the dancehall' as opposed to a general entertainment programme.
At the Stone Love Entertainment Awards, trophies will be given for Best New Dance Move, Dancer of the Year, Best Dance Group, Best Dancehall Slang, Best Sound System and Best Selector.
