Spragga Benz
One of the country's popular dancehall artistes has been listed as a major person of interest by the police.
Police detectives from the Kingston Eastern Police Division say they want to interview ‘Spragga Benz’ whose given name is Carlton Grant.
The interview is in relation to the shooting of three persons on Friday night in the McIntyre Villa area of the Division.
Two of those persons died.
The police say Spragga Benz must report to the Elleston Road Police Station by 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
Persons with information on the whereabouts of Spragga Benz are asked to contact Operation Kingfish at 811, Crime Stop at 311 or Police Control Centre at 119.
The police are reporting that three men were shot in McIntrye Villa.
Two are dead while a third remains in hospital.
Dead are 49-year-old Peter Escoffery alias ‘Stumpy’ of McIntyre Villa, and Kenique Richards alias ‘Runkus’ of Lincoln Terrace both of Kingston 16.
According to the Major Investigation Task Force (MIT) about 11:50 Friday night a group of men was watching television at a shop.
This was when heavily armed men reportedly alighted from a motor car with high powered rifles and opened fire hitting three persons.
Richards died on the spot while Escoffery and an injured man were taken to the hospital.
Escoffery was pronounced dead at hospital, while the injured man was admitted in serious condition.
