Soulful Songstress Malica Release New Single ‘Wiggle Wiggle’ featuring Grammy Winner Beenie Man

If ever a song was predestined to become a hit single from its conception, look no further than soulful songstress Malica new single "Wiggle Wiggle".


The star-studded musical offering features GRAMMY and MOBO award winner, Beenie Man, and was produced by renowned music architect, recent Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) award honoree, GRAMMY luminary and top Billboard charting producer Bulby York.

As the beat drops on "Wiggle Wiggle", the infectious rhythm infiltrates your senses and one cannot help but sway to the track. "I made that beat years ago with a brethren Charles Duff aka Matrixx man. When I was recently in Orlando I gave the beat to Malica and she came up with the Wiggle vibes and I soon as I heard it I knew it was meant for Beenie Man." explained Bulby. A keen ear for music, the internationally renowned York has worked with A-list entertainers like Rihanna, Madonna, and Britney Spears among his impressive repertoire.

Far from being intimidated by working with such notables, Malica herself who boasts a growing discography, came to prominence as a creator and songwriter for an impressive roster of recording artists. She's collaborated with Rodney Jerkins, Trina & Nicki Minaj to name a few.

"I’ve been beyond excited since the day Bulby York sent me the riddim. I didn’t think I could get more excited and then I found out that I was going to be working with Beenie Man on this project and realized I was wrong. The exhilaration jumped levels." she explained.

The singer further related on her collaboration with the King of Dancehall, "It was out of this world! As a baby I was around Beenie a lot through the sound my father owned called Love Vibration Disco. Every time I have seen him since he has always been welcoming while embodying and epitomizing his title, KING. It’s deeper than a song to me - it’s a deep-rooted re-connection to the beginning of my musical journey."

"I’ve noticed a lot of conversations about where dancehall is today with some raving about it and others not so much. I’ve also noticed a lot of credit being given to places and people with no regard to the Jamaican originators. Personally, I consider the new wave of “dancehall” as a subgroup of the 90s sound many are longing for." - Malica. "Because of this I felt it was imperative to carry on the dancehall sound while still integrating some of my Fusion style in my vocal delivery. Teaming up with my co-writers Crystal Tais, Abe Williams Jr, Charles “Dr Do” Davids & Hamali helped solidify the “happy effect” that you find in some of the most popular dancehall songs. I feel it’s imperative that even if we create other new and incredible styles we can’t neglect the pioneering sounds by straying too far from the mold.
