Finally, Shaggy has decided to put a vision to his newest single Love Mi Jamaica. A perfect declaration of the singer’s patriotism towards his homeland Jamaica, the song, which was released as the first single from his Record Label, Ranch Entertainment, speaks of the singer’s deep love for his country.
Coming on the heels of his much-loved song commemorating Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary last August, the rhythmically sweet Love Mi Jamaica showcases what makes the island so special to him and he wanted to ensure the video was right in line.
Partnering with renowned Jamaican director Jay Will, the video was shot the full essence of Jamaica to capture scenes highlighting the island’s food, music, history, and hot spots. Shots, like those of country homes, the streets of Kingston, and the culminating scene at one of Jamaica’s most historic and beloved beaches — Hellshire — where fans at the beach delighted in the impromptu surprise.
In appreciation for having his vision of the video realised, the music mogul states that: “The video shoot was at some beautiful parts of Jamaica with the final scene being with our fans at Hellshire Beach. Our video is showing the things and places that we are singing about. I am glad that I had contributors like Red Bull willing to come on board and support the vastness of this project,” the artiste whose real name is Orville Burrell said.
Prominent Jamaican artistes Denyque, Tessanne Chin and Konshens also came out to support the video. The video will be launched today, at a special Behind The Screen at Tracks & Records. Following the performance of Ranch recording artistes Rayvon, Red Fox and GC backed by the Tantrum Band Shaggy himself will launch the video along with Konshens’ Couple Up on the Calabash Riddim.
