Downsound recording artiste Ishawna is unstoppable; the talented beauty is rapidly emerging as one of the hottest female acts on the local music scene.
Ishawna recently scored her second number-one hit with the video for her thought-provoking single called Murderer which samples Buju Banton's 1990s smash dancehall anthem of the same name.
The video for Murderer is currently number one on HIT LIST Chart Show's Dancehall Chart, which is aired on CVM TV weekly.
"I feel great, I'm feeling very happy that the video is at number one. It's a nice video and I'm very thankful the fans love it and are voting for it. This is a different type of song, it's a song that everyone can relate to and I think it has a very strong mainstream appeal," said Ishawna.
promotional tour
Ishawna recently completed a promotional tour of New York City.
"The tour was very good. I did a lot of interviews and promotional stops that really gave me a good opportunity to connect with dancehall music fans in New York," said the artiste.
She has also been very busy on the local scene, performing at a number of events, including the IRIE FM In Di Area road shows.
"Performing on the IRIE FM road shows was another wonderful experience for me. It was really great, I got to interact with fans all over the island, in places like Montego Bay, Papine, Spanish Town and Trelawny," she said.
The hard-working singer is currently promoting a number of new singles.
"I have a single with Ninja Man called Summer. It's going to be huge and a lot of people are already talking about it. I'm also getting some good feedback about No Fear on the Good Good Productions label and Teeny Tiny on Downsound's Quarter Mile rhythm," she added.
Ishawna says she doesn't plan to ease up on her career.
"I feel very humble and thankful for all that I'm achieving as an artiste and I plan to continue working as hard as I can to fulfill all my musical dreams. I have to thank all the fans and the people who support my career for the love they are showing me. I want all of them to know they can expect a lot of fresh new music from me in the coming months. We've been in the studio at Downsound experimenting with some new sounds and the results have been very good. So I will be dropping a whole lot of new singles soon," she said.
