Reggae Singer Ginjah is back with 'Sweet Killer'

It has been almost seven years since Ginjah scored his breakthrough hit titled Never Lost My Way.
The song that was produced by topflight producer Kemar 'Flava' McGregor brought the former Beres Hammond protegé instant success. As a result of the song's popularity, Ginjah soon became a fixture on the European reggae scene.
However, for a long while, not much has been heard from him locally until recently. His song, Sweet Killer, which was produced by the Germany-based label Silly Walks Discotheque on the 'Honey Pot' rhythm compilation, is currently burning up the local airwaves.
"This song is one of the hottest songs right now. It's getting a lot of love all over. I have to give thanks to all the radio DJs, selectors, and mixtape DJs for their support. I have to big up the fans, too, for supporting my career. Everywhere I go, people are telling me how much they love Sweet Killer," said Ginjah.
The humble Rastafarian singer also said that he is happy to have another big hit.
"Every artiste has to have a hit to stay current. Over the years, I've always recorded a lot of good music, but sometimes, the songs don't get that strong support from media, so a lot of them don't get big on local soil, but they are popular abroad. When I go abroad and perform, the people know all my songs, yet still some of these songs don't even get airplay at home, but that's just the way the business is. Right now, I am very happy with what's happening with Sweet Killer."
Enjoying strong rotationThe accompanying music for Sweet Killer, which was directed and produced by Mediaville Productions, is also doing well. It is currently enjoying strong rotation on a number of local TV stations, including CVM Plus, HYPE TV, RE TV, and E Plus.
Ginjah is currently working towards the completion of his soon-to-be released album titled Urge To Love. The album, which is being produced by California-based producer Jungle Josh, will feature 14 new tracks.
"I will be leaving the island shortly to go to the US to do some more work on the album. I have already recorded a few tracks for it and I hope to complete it by the end of the year."
Ginjah is also promoting his new single titled Brenda, which was released on the Stone love label.
