Reggae recording artiste Charlie Brown
Mr. Calvin Benjamin aka Charlie Brown was born in Rhoden Hall, Clarendon, Jamaica. In 1976 Calvin came to Canada to spend time with his family.
Early influences and people who encouraged him to pursue a musical career were DJ Patrick Brooks Guitarist Charles Sinclair and Carleen Davis also played on the first Toronto Caribana parade.
1980
saw Calvin singing alongside Sound Systems Tipstone and King Digital
and reggae artiste Lerroy Sibbles. At this time he could be found
free-styling Dancehall, also around this time, Calvin teamed up with
Eddie Lovett, Pinchers and Little John. In the 90's Calvin teamed up
with artiste Steady Rider and was found opening shows for Damien Marley
and Early B. After a while, life's changes saw Calvin taking a break
from the music scene.
In 2000's, Calvin re-inspired musically and started to write lyrics which in turn caused him to reappear on the music scene. Currently Calvin is working on an album "Eternal Flame" and has released a new song called "What about me" which you can find on youTube and other Media outlets.
