Reggae artiste Nature to raise the bar in 2013

Downsound recording artiste Nature sounded a clear warning that he is one of the reggae artistes to watch in 2013, and showed why he is at the forefront of a new reggae movement that is injecting new life into the genre during an emphatic performance at Sting 2012.


Dressed in a black leather outfit with red, green and gold patches on the elbows, Nature walked out to the strains of his runaway #1 hit song, World Peace. With a huge peace symbol alternating with a giant spinning globe on the huge screens behind the stage, Nature thrilled the audience with his sweet voice.

He worked the stage expertly jogging across and shaking his locks in tandem with the spiritually charged music. "Him remind me of Bob Marley," one woman remarked.

After doing World Peace, Nature paused to talk to the crowd and introduce his next song, a well-received rendition of Garnet Silk's Hello Mama Africa while the audience sang along.

The band played a tight set, as Nature began to do his high-stepping dancing antics and unusual skanks, much to the delight of the crowd.

He closed his set with Trying Man, a powerful uplifting song that was given greater emotional import by the images of the rolling hills and red dirt of some gorgeous plain from the African continent.
Nature's voice and coordinated movements seemed to hypnotise the crowd.

Nature also delivered a brilliant set during the annual GT Taylor Xtravaganza show at Independence Park in St Elizabeth. The singer's performance was so thrilling great that a woman remarked that he "gave me goosebumps the way he was so good, I can't wait to hear more of his songs".

Nature has been performing at a number of the Wisynco roadshows all over the island. He is also booked to perform at this year's Rebel Salute 2013 show set for Richmond Park in Priory, St Ann.

Rebel Salute, considered the island's leading conscious reggae showcase, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013. The concert has the reputation of being a drug-free, violence-free, alcohol-free and meat-free, family-oriented event, and has attracted thousands of patrons each year.

"I made a lot of progress in 2012, some of the highlights of my year was my performances at Reggae Sumfest, Sting, GT Xtravaganza and the Jamaica50 celebrations, and I am looking to make my mark at Rebel Salute. My management team is going to release more songs this January to raise the banner for well-produced, conscious reggae music," he said.

One of those songs is Everything Is So Different Without You, produced by Downsound Records.
