Refreshing TWIST with new RDX ‘Summertime’ Single
Award winning Dancehall Superstars – RDX, has yet again reached beyond the realm of what is the normal treatment with their new up-tempo summer single ‘Summertime’. With the release of the incredibly unique music video for the single as well, already getting rave reviews, it is now clear that RDX is thinking way outside the Dancehall proverbial Box.
RDX is known for Fun, High Energy Dancehall Infused Music and continue to innovate with a variety of styles, concepts and content; the most recent of this is the 70’s Rock and Roll inspired track Summertime.
“it’s definitely a 70’s Rock and roll meets Dancehall and Ska project” Delomar commented when asked about the song itself
“We were listening to a rendition of footloose online and it hit us that merging dancehall with that rock and roll style would be fun, and RDX and Apartment 19 Music is all about making fun music” Renegade added
The single was released prior to the start of summer and had garnered quite a bit of interest, with the release of the video the interest has increased dramatically. Shot at Comfytania Bar and Restaurant on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston Jamaica; the video is a flash back to a 70’s live performance club session. Outfitted with the LIVE Band, backup singers and dance crews adorned in ‘retro’ attire adding to the Rock and Roll style of leading men, Delomar and Renegade.
The LIVE Band;
comprising of Apartment 19 Producers and Street team - the Road Works Agency, paired with backup singers from RDX’s PR firm and in house Administrator, was topped off with Dance crews from Jamaica and as far as Denmark making their appearance on the dance floor. The video was then retrofitted to Black and White to give the authentic 70’s TV feel, a finished product the Directors Xtreme Arts should be quite proud of.
RDx had promised four videos this summer to showcase four of the tracks that showcase the versatility of the duo; Summertime, Whisper, Hold Yuh Lane and Hell; if the video released for Summertime is to be used as a benchmark, the remaining three videos will be EPIC.
“The fans have asked for more visuals and we are obliging, we just want to please our fans worldwide” Renigade reiterated.
The 'Summertime' Single will be available for digital download on August 5, 2014 accompanied by the VEVO prime time debut of the music video through digital distribution giant, Hapilos Digital Distribution.
The Soul Poetry Reggae Album Project is the next item on the RDX Agenda, visuals for the Singles ‘Family’ and ‘Freedom’ are also in the works and will be shot in August while the duo visits Europe for the ‘Bum Tour’, the second of two stints in Europe this year ; which included an energetic performance at the Reggae Jam Festival in Germany at the start of August.
