Queen Ifrica "Climb" Tops Billboard Reggae Chart
Queen Ifrica Climb
Reggae's Queen Ifrica has ceremoniously taken her throne at the top of the Billboard Reggae chart, as her latest studio album "Climb" debuts at #1 this week.
Sales of the album were bolstered by an in-store/acoustic performance event at VP Records' Florida location as well as strong digital album downloads. Returning to the scene after a six year hiatus, Climb is receiving rave reviews from fans and music critics alike for its timely messages and inspirational lyrics. " Queen is a fearless explorer and a serious voice for the voiceless who works very hard to perfect her craft " Tony Rebel.
The video and first single "Trueversation featuring Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley" is also growing at radio as the YouTube video nears 200,000 cumulative views. Watch video here: Queen Ifrica - Trueversation ft. Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley | Official Music Video
A strong advocate for women's issues, Ifrica was a big part of the activities to recognize International woman’s day in Jamaica last week where she performed on a concert with other artists to bring attention to gender abuse against women. Her song "Black Woman" from the new album exemplifies her commitment to raising consciousness and esteem among women in Jamaica and the diaspora. The song admonishes young women to protect and value their sexuality and themselves.
Her strong stage showing on stage at Rebel Salute and the recent Love & Harmony Cruise have fans on the lookout for Queen Ifrica in performance.
"I just want to thank everyone that supported me from day one , you are always in my heart , please continue to support good music, you are my inspiration. Blessings " - Queen Ifrica
