Popular Dancehall Artist Timberlee Delivers a Murderous Freestyle to Bobby Shmurda
Absorbing the vibes of New York, as she preps for upcoming mixtape “Beat It”, Dancehall artist Timberlee releases a freestyle to Bobby Shmurda’s uber popular hit, “Hot Nigga” aka the “Shmoney” song.
“I’ve always been a diverse personality, both personally and talent wise. I do what feels right to me. This Shmurda freestyle came proper, so I followed through.”
Unlike many “dancehall remixes”, Timberlee’s freestyle runs parallel to the songs original format, while spicing it up with a few drops of Jamaican patois. A combination that’s honestly unique in comparison with many female artist at present.
The recording of the freestyle came on a whim suggestion from Timberlee’sUK tour DJ, Sir DJ Corey. Executed so flawlessly it went from studio vibes to video within a week. “Shmurda Freestyle” will be featured on the “Beat It”mixtape/compilation, along with a collaboration with Spragga Benz and singles encompassing Timberlee’s signature Dancehall style. When asked if she’s venturing into a different musical style (as “Hot Nigga” is very much a Hip Hop single), Timberlee staunchly remarks, “No definitely not changing my musical style, just know you can expect anything and everything from Timberlee.”
In the midst of her “Beat It” mixtape preparation, Timberlee can be seen throughout the US (NY, FL), upcoming shows in the Virgin Islands and a mini South American tour starting in January.
