Growing up 1960s 70s UK in an Jamaican family household influenced by older brothers born and grown in JA.
Our whole life musically, spiritually, politically connected
beliefs to shape of what’s was then an emerging ideology, civil rights Panthers...Black Power movement to Rastafarianism.
The passing of so many (home and aboard) Jamaican Philosophers who each one in turn carried the message.
More recently reggae greats: Bob Andy, Uroy and this week Bunny Wailer who I’m glad to have seen twice in perform in concert at London’s Brixton Academy a few years ago. I felt the need to revisit my youth... I grew up in the Catch-a-Fire, Burning and Rastaman Vibration albums era and was blessed to see Bob Marley chilling on roadside at the 1974 Nottinghill Carnival...My children grew up listening and refer this as their womb music....
So today I listened today on YouTube to the 2016 broadcast Interview of yourself and Marlene Brown, describing her life with the Man Peter Tosh up to that fateful day. I can only praise her for her strength JAH! only knows how people get through calamities... deep!
Give thanks for your works in getting the Word Sound and Power out to the people... ✌🏾n❤️
