* Nami (band-leader)-Saxophone, keyboards, vocals
* Gennaro - guitar * Empress Angie - vocals
* Rupert - Bass * Chris - keyboards
* Fitzroy - Drums
* Dakarai - trumpet/fugel-horn/flute/vocals
The band was formed by acclaimed grammy award producer/songwriter Nami .
After years of producing and managing artists like reggae superstar Shabba Ranks; he was encouraged to contact a group of his journeymen friends who were moti- vated to work on a new project to present a fresh look at the Reggae genre.
It’s a rare oc- casion, to blend a melting pot of talented musicians with varying backgrounds of reggae,jazz,hip-hop,R&B,and soca ryhthms. Though they are all reggae lovers and worked with the very best in that genre; their in- terpretations have ushered a delightful sound while maintaining a roots rock pulse.
Some of the artists the members of Nami & di Crew worked with is actually a who is who list- Cat Coore (Third World), Shabba Ranks, Capleton, Eddie Lovette, Jackie Mitto, to name a few. There is a special chemistry among the group and the excitement generated at rehearsals is positive and infectious.
