Mr. Vegas Music Announces Food Drive and Concert to Feed Children housed at Mustard Seed Communities


Kingston, Jamaica (October 30, 2014) – CEO of Mr. Vegas Music (MV Music), Clifford Smith, more popularly known as Mr. Vegas, has announced a food drive and campaign to collect non-perishable items and help raise funds for children housed at Mustard Seed Communities (MSC).



MSC is a faith based non-profit organization founded by Monsignor Gregory Ramkissoon under the principle of caring in 1978 and the organization has remained committed to helping those in need.


Today, MSC serves over 500 children, young adults and families who belong to the most vulnerable groups in our society. The population of their homes includes children and young adults with disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS and teen mothers along with their babies. MSC also manages a number of community outreach programmes to combat poverty and provide education.


Mr. Smith has been supporting MSC since his first visit there some eight years ago but wants to do more for the organization. His goal now is to raise enough food and funds to provide three daily meals for children housed at MSC for the next year.


"MV Musc is pleased to partner with the MSC for this food drive," stated Mr. Smith, "It is difficult for MSC to provide for so many children with all their other additional costs. We want to ensure the children get proper nourishment , especially those who are
on medication, so we are happy to contribute to this great cause."





The Food Drive will be held from November 1 to December 12 . Collection bins will be placed at Megamart outlets islandwide and General Food Supermarket in Liguanea. Individuals are being asked to to support this drive by donating the following needed items :

Mackerel
Sardines
Sausage
Baked Beans
Corned Beef
Tuna
Macaroni & Cheese

Individuals can also support the drive by making monetary donations to MV Foundation via First Caribbean Bank . The account number is 1002173973.


MV Music will also host a star-studded concert-Euphoria- on December 14, at the Lime Golf Academy in New Kingston to benefit the MSC. Euphoria will feature overseas performances from the 1980’s R&B Singer Karyn White, popular for Superwoman and R&B Group Champaign, popular for their hit single, How about Us. The line-up also includes Freddie McGregor, Leroy Sibbles, Ernie Smith, Christoper Martin, Romain Virgo, Gospel Sensation , Kevin Downswell and many more.


General Tickets are $3000 pre-sold, $3500 at the gate ; VIP and VIP Gold tickets are $5,00 and $10,000 respectively. Tickets may be purchased at Fontana Pharmacy ; Xtra's Manor Park; Liguanea Drug & Garden Centre ; Genus Pharmacy ; Ocho Rios Jerk Centre; D'Rehab Sports Bar & Lounge
