Morgan Heritage "Strictly Roots" Album Release Date, Gears up to Release "Perform and Done" Video
Critically acclaimed reggae band Morgan Heritage has announced the release date of their anticipated "Strictly Roots" Album. The album already deemed a classic by music industry insiders will be released on all major digital platforms April 20th, 2015 and the physical copy on the 21st via www.MorganHeritageMusic.com
This musical endeavor is even sweeter for the siblings as it is the first project produced under their own imprint label CTBC Music (Cool To Be Conscious). The album features an array of 13 memorable tracks fusing both reggae and dancehall such as the hit single "Perform and Done, Child Of JAH" featuring Chronixx, "Put it On Me", and "So Amazing" featuring J Boog, Jemere Morgan & award winning drummer Gil Sharone.
"This album is our most progressive album to date. We feel as if we've covered the full spectrum of Jamaican music and how it has influenced today's global music industry. The root of these influences you hear come from Jamaica. Hence the title Strictly Roots." states Mojo Morgan
Fans who have been eagerly clamoring for the "Perform and Done" video need to wait no longer as the lead single off "Strictly Roots" album will premiere on the esteemed online magazine Billboard. Produced by renowned BBC One/BBC 1Xtra's Seani B and Don Chandler, the single became an instant success as it showcased a different side of Morgan Heritage who is renowned for their conscious and social musical commentaries. The reggae track "Perform and Done" infused with dancehall influences showcases the band's celebrated versatility, deft vocals, clever songwriting and catchy hook.
Filmed on location at the weekly Mojito Mondays event in Kingston, Jamaica, director William Richards, managed to capture the essence of the song with a storyline reminiscent of the popular "Dancehall Queen" movie.
"This song is just an introduction to the creative approach we took with this album. Krystia Rhodes and the entire Image Development Studios team wrote a hell of treatment to highlight this creativity and the Director William Richards executed their vision perfectly. We're really looking forward to the premier of this video." - Morgan Heritage
