Jamaican media personality, Khadine Hylton, more popularly known as Miss Kitty will return to local radio this July after it was announced on Friday that she will return to Nationwide 90FM nearly five years after being axed from the station.
The self-professed ‘Fluffy Diva’ will host her new afternoon show, Miss Kitty Live in the 2 to 5 p.m., time slot, effective July 1st. Not only will the show re-ingratiate Miss Kitty with her local listeners, but it will also be simulcast on New York’s Link Up Radio, where she currently hosts her four-hour morning program, Mawnin’ Link Up with Miss Kitty.
Nationwide 90FM CEO, Cliff Hughes confirmed the move in a statement, saying Miss Kitty is "returning home with welcoming and open arms, as she will be an asset to the broadcasting industry and specifically the afternoon time slot.” He also said the move, "virtually completes the revamping of the station from 6 a.m. - 2 a.m., and signals a repositioning of Nationwide 90FM in response to the changes in the radio landscape and wider economy.”
Link Up Radio CEO, David ‘Squeeze’ Annakie also spoke highly of the move, intimating that the move will be, bringing the world a lot closer in real time with the Jamaican Diaspora and allowing Jamaica and New York to be more in touch with what's happening in the landscape. The reach during 'Miss Kitty Live' will be astronomical and at your fingertips."
Miss Kitty formerly hosted another daily afternoon program, The Entertainment Office on Nationwide 90FM until 2008 when she was released by the station days after being suspended for playing a song deemed libelous by management. Months later, she moved on to RJR 94FM and became the host of their Ruption program until this past April, when she resigned from the station following a contract dispute.
She began her stint on Link Up Radio just over a month prior to her resignation from RJR.
