M.I.A Production reaches out to Girls home
CEO of the M.I.A Production, Nackesha Doyley did her share in giving back by going in as a motivational speaker at the St. Anthony Mary’s Child Girls home recently.
The girls who reside at the home have all fallen victim to teenage pregnancy and being a teenage mom herself it was only fitting that she was the one to go in and tell her story with the intention of encouraging these girls.
“I was a teen mom and it wasn’t an easy road for me, but I want to encourage these girls and tell them not to give up. It was hard for me being a teen mom, but today I can look back at that period in my life and be proud of myself.”
Doyley expresses the hope that the young ladies will understand that despite their present situations, their future can be positive, and all it takes is the right attitude and hard work.
The M.I.A Production team plans to revisit the home but this time with some recording artistes to perform for the girls. This undoubtedly, is a great idea as it will lift the spirits of the girls and they are all excited to see the artistes perform.
“I have already spoken to some artistes and I have gotten favorable responses so far. I know I have to be very selective as well because I want artistes that will be encouraging in their lyrics and their overall demeanor.”
The team also plans to donate diapers, tissues, books and other school supplies to the overall development of the Girls home.
“This does not end here; the team will be working closely with artistes and plans to visit other girls home in the very near future. We will be doing the same thing and try to give back as much as we can.”
For the rest of the year M.I.A. Production will continue to undertake more projects like this among other things. M.I.A. Production is currently working on an all female riddim due to be released at the end of the year. The riddim features both popular and upcoming females in the business “Very soon we will drop the bomb and let the whole world know about this riddim and who will be featured on this riddim, but I’m not letting the cat out of the bag yet.” She said
She continues, “This being a male dominated field, I wanted to do something for the females in the business. Being a woman in the business, I understand how difficult it canvbe for the women, so I a going to be giving the females dem a strength.”
This riddim is the second riddim that will be out under M.I.A. Production.
