Meet Push Hitz Records Rising Reggae Stars Mega C and Tata Blacks


St-Catherine, Jamaica - Push Hitz recently proudly announced the upcoming release of "Bow & Arrow Riddim". Their latest reggae production features a crop of new artists who are looking to make their mark on the music industry and reggae fans worldwide. Push Hitz Records artists Mega C and Tata are looking to stand out and continue the legacy of iconic reggae stars.



Mega C has arrived. Describing his own sound and style using words that immediately provoke the notion “over the top”, Mega C embraces this as readies himself for professional debut.
Born Leroy Henry in Jamaica and raised in the Ambrooke Lane Community by a Rastafarian father and a Christian mother, Leroy embraced his diverse background from an early age. As the youngest of seven siblings, Leroy was put in the spotlight from young, always performing and entertaining for his family.

By the youthful age of 10, Leroy’s voice had become increasingly popular with a local sound system, Ghetto Roots. Taking duties as the Emcee, young Leroy would navigate the sound with his voice in his spare time. With encouragement from family and friends, Leroy started his transition into an artist by performing every chance he got. From school events, talent shows, weekend parties, community gathering, Leroy grasped each opportunity to nurture his music

As childhood gave way to his teen years, Leroy felt inspiration from Mega Banton and Buju Banton, adapting the name Mega C. Channeling the sound of these great artist alongside influences like Supacat, Sizzla, Capleton and Bob Marley, Mega C begin to define his own sound and style. With his first moments of studio recording, Mega C realized his passion was not just for music but writing as well.
Over the years, Mega C has received monumental opportunities such as performing with Buju Banton in the Bahamas, which led to recording a song with Cecile to working with the legendary Stone Love, releasing single “Just Say Yow”.

Fast forward to present, after years of nurturing his sound and learning from experiences, Mega C is ready to emerge. Currently working with his official debut single and video “I’m Shining”, Mega C is prepping for a mixtape scheduled for early 2014. Focused on leaving a lasting mark with his music, uplifting and empowering the youth, Mega C is ready to project his “giant, unique, and above average” sound to every valley and hill!


“Tata Blacks” Born Terrence Tedroy Henry on December 25, 1983 at Spanish Town Hospital in the fruitful parish of St Catherine, on the Beautiful Island of Jamaica to parents Fregreca Bassick and Obedia Henry.

Tata received his nickname from school mates
because he shared a single pack of peanuts amongst his whole class … “a tat for you, a tat for me”. Like most youth growing up in Jamaica, he was introduced to music early through his bigger brother known as Dr. Bird who also had the gift to sing. It was at this stage when he discovered his high tenor range.

However, that did not stop him from pursuing his studies. At the age of 14, he passed his grade nine achievement exam and graduated from Bios Content All Age School. He then moved on to the Tacious Golding High School where he graduated at the age of 18 with 7 CXC subjects. Tata still did not stop there. He went on to attend Knox Teachers College for one year in pursuit of a teaching career, which lead him to work at the Ministry of Education for two years as an office clerk but his true calling was never far from his mind.

His love for Rastafari and music lead him to work on a few sound systems, he was even M.C for a few local shows. In 2009, while performing at a stage show, he met Delano Smith a producer from Push Hitz Records and after hearing his unique voice, Smith introduced him to Desmond Hepburn and Clinton Jones; Executive Producer and Road Manager of Push Hitz Records. They listened to his demo tracks and decided to sign him in march 2009 to his new record label “Push Hitz” where he recorded a number of songs like “ I Nah Give Up”, “Pagan Dem” and numerous other tracks .

When asked who influences him Tata credits Bob Marley, Burning Spear, and Sizzla Kalonji as his musical influences. Armed with a great tenor voice and a positive outlook on life, Tata writes his own lyrics and has a gift to bring them across in such a way that granted him the chance to perform in front of thousands at one of Jamaica’s top stage shows, Western Consciousness, alongside some of the top acts in the business. Tata is quoted as saying that "my mission and goal in life is to make positive music and someday I hope to win a Grammy". Tata now focuses on making positive music that will leave the world wanting more.
"Bow and Arrow Riddim" features Lady Genius "Nah Stop Try", J-Asha "My Princess", Tata Blacks "Gal Ah Run Mi Down", Merchant "Everything" and Mega C with "Bare Bullets". The riddim is slated to be released on iTunes March 15th, 2015 and is now available pre-order.
