Mavado decided not to perform in Guyana after balance of payment was not made.

(Jamaica)
Dancehall artiste Mavado did not take the stage in Guyana on Saturday August 17th, saying that he was owed by the promoter and so he decided not to perform until the balance was paid.
But the promoters of “Slingerz Summer Jam” are singing a different tune.
Speaking with a member of the Slingerz Entertainment this is what he said, "This is the fourth time my boss is bringing Mavado to Guyana and he never owe him yet, Mavado decided that he wasn't going to perform after he was asked to perform before Tommy Lee."
MAVADO’S SIDE OF THE STORY
During an interview with HJTV Channel #72 this is what Mavado had to say:
The Promoters told me they were going to send a private jet for me, but instead it was regular small plane which took over fifteen hours to get to Guyana from Jamaica. The plane had to stop in some islands to refuel, it had no washroom facilities onboard and I (Mavado) never prayed so much in my life. When I arrived in Guyana, I never heard from Slingerz Entertainment until just before 4am while the show was already in progress. And to topped it off, I did not received all of my money.
Mavado also said I would never diss the Guyanese people but felt disrespected by the treatment and the arrangements.
Mavado is still in Guyana. He will be doing a "Cheap' show for all his fans at the National Stadium there on Monday August 19th. The artiste said he would cover most of the costs since this is where his career really took off and he wants to give back.
Mavado and Chase Cross at the Guyana National Stadium tonight, first 500 people free after that $1000 at the gate.
Dancehall Reggae World has since learnt that the out-standing amount owed to Mavado by Slingerz Entertainment is $25,000 USD.
We are still waiting on an official press release from Slingerz Entertainment.
