Masicka to release Tyler and Puffy Part 3
Dancehall star Masicka has been earning major props in dancehall circles with his innovative, visceral serialised singles, Part 1 and Part 2 of the Tyler and Puffy saga.
The singles have racked up 56,000 plus views in only one month on one website channel, and thousands of other views on a number of other channels.
"People love it, artistes from the industry have called me and said they love it, the cinematic quality of the delivery, the wordplay, the plot, and it is very gratifying that the songs have so many fans," Masicka said.
The artiste, whose given name is Javaun Fearon, is now setting his sights on releasing part three to Tyler and Puffy.
"We're gonna drop that after the summer and release a full video which will be like a movie. We want it done proper so we putting a lot of thought into this, not rushing it, taking time and making sure it is done right ... we even plan to put in subtitles to appeal to North American fans," he said.
Cut his association
Masicka created headlines last year after he walked away from the Subkonshus group, headed by Konshens, and then again, when his entourage kicked off with Demarco's entourage backstage at Sting 2014.
He said the decision to cut his association with Konshens was a wise one.
"It was a learning process and stepping stone for me and it teach me a lot. One of the big things is that not everybody loyal. I want to walk the journey by myself and if I fail... at least, I tried," he said
He has a slew of singles such as Bamboo for the Take Ova label, Da Body Deh Win for the Chase Mills Records label and Heavy, which will be released in the next couple of weeks.
