Macka Diamond endorses healthy eating as Corona prevention
Dancehall artiste Charmaine Munroe, aka Macka Diamond, has put in her two cents in the ongoing Carona Virus conversation.
Earlier this week when news broke of the first confirmed case of the Covid-19 Virus in Jamaica, many agencies and officials have given various methods for Jamaicans to reduce their risk of catching the virus; including washing hands, sanitizing surfaces and general cleaning.
Now with two confirmed cases and more possibly infected, Macka is urging persons to focus on building their immune system to combat the virus.
"Eating healthy and building up your immune system is the best way to fight any infection and yet the Government through the Health and Wellness ministry is not encouraging persons to start eating their fruits, vegetables and herbs, " Macka explained
The artiste who has been on a health journey over the last three years knows first hand that changing your diet can improve your health. Macka has been endorsing fruits and vegetable consumption even in her music with her latest single Cucumber already making waves.
"Herbs like Dandelion, Elderberry, Blue Vervain and Moringa, we have them all here to help us fight viruses. Jamaica is blessed with the good food and we should take advantage of that in this crisis to build our immune system," Macka Concluded
The artiste is also encouraging fans to exercise to build up their immune system as fitness and wellness is the first and last line of defense against these viruses.
She is also opening up to fans who would like to DM her on Instagram |@mackadiamond1 if they want additional suggestions on what to eat to help build a strong immune system. Macka will be including these tips in her Naturally Happy Web series which should be relaunched this Easter.
