Kojo Rigault - Loved Up (Music Week, Spin Up, Capital Xtra, BBC)
Loved Up is the debut single from Kojo Rigault, the reggae-pop singer, and songwriter from Trinidad residing in West London.
The song is released on the Kojo Sound label via Spin Up (Universal). “I’m just a hopeless romantic at times and when I hear certain chords they just send me to places… Loved Up is just one of those songs…I fell in love with the chords and before I knew it I had written the hook ‘loved up by you’. And of course… a special lady in my life added the inspiration for the lyrics…” Kojo Rigault
Loved Up was produced by K. Warren (Brandy & Monica, Whitney Houston, Emma Bunton, Christina Aguilera, Samantha Mumba, Shola Ama, Gabrielle, Maxi Priest, Eternal & Jay Sean/Lil Wayne) and written by Kojo Rigault/K. Warren and Winston Sela (Maxi Priest, Aswad, Barrington Levy, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Shabba Ranks). The reaction has been nothing short of phenomenal as with limited promotion the song has reached no.9 in the Music Week Urban charts and has been in the charts for 7 weeks and counting.
Kojo Rigault started his career writing music with his friends back in Trinidad. They formed a boy band called New Creation and became an overnight sensation. After moving to London, Kojo worked as an A & R scout for Craig David’s producer Mark Hill at his Stoosh Records imprint.
Loved Up comes with an impressive remix package of 5 remixes, the most notable being the Dot Inc (Shakira/ David Guetta/ Sean Paul) grime/ragga mix which is proving extremely popular with the club and radio DJ’s.
