Kirk Diamond and T.G Premieres "Dem Nuh Real" Video on MTV.com
Canada, Jamaica, U.S.A (MPR Consulting) - To say that Don Dem's group member Kirk Diamond has had a busy year would be an understatement, the multi talented artist jet setter has been juggling his time between Canada and Jamaica hard at work building his impressive repertoire.
Kirk's recently spend time in Jamaica to film the video for his Armzhouse Records hit single "Dem Nuh Real" featuring Spanish Town rising dancehall sensation T.G (signed now to Don Dem Ent). The video directed by Nellie Roxx and Xtreme Arts was released 2 weeks ago to rave reviews and will hit MTV.com September 15th, 2014. "it was exciting to have xtreme arts shoot our video. i see their work almost every 5 mins on tv and to have them shoot our this video was really a blessing" proudly stated Kirk
While in Jamaica, Kirk Diamond also did a photo shoot with famed director Chris "Icey Jace" Campbell for his upcoming EP which will be released early 2015. The EP will feature Kirk as a solo artist with features from T.G. Music produced by various notable producers such as Dre Day Productions. "I plan to do a video for each song on my EP, I just want to offer my fans a visual story to go along." - Kirk
Kirk and Don Dem are also getting strong airplay with "Love Inna We Heart" a nostalgic ode to 90's dancehall era on the "Galang Riddim" build by D&H and produced by French based Galang Records. The riddim featured the iconic Mad Cobra, Agent Sasco a.k.a Assassin, Charly Black, Gappy Ranks and myself Kirk Diamond from Don Dem.
Although he is based in Canada, Kirk recognizes that although the Canadian reggae market is growing it is not where it should be. "Most radio Dj's only play what's hot in Jamaica, just like most of the world they look to Jamaica, and for a local artist its like you need that Jamaican stamp of approval to be taken seriously, so we spend all our money traveling back and forth."
Reviving older riddims has become a trend lately, ever since Rvssian did it with his 2010 compilation Go-Go Club Riddim and rebranded it as the Dutty Money
