Karamanti - Though the Reggae/Dancehall industry is dominated by men, She stands as a strong black woman, (in her home town of Kingston, Jamaica) raining showers of conscious lyrics to a generation far from reality.
Having recently hired a street and online promo team, Karamanti has put a road map in place to ensure that her brand continues to grow.
She has spent the last few months recording for established Jamaican producers on rhythm driven projects that include artists such as Bugle, Chino, Sizzla, Lutan Fyah, Kip Rich and others.
Additionally, she has done songs for quite a few international producers; For Strike Dee who is based in Ghana, Africa, Karamanti penned the “African song”, which is now a certified success in that region, boasting thousands of mp3 and ring tone downloads.
For Pharfar who is based in Denmark, she
recorded “Balkan dance”, a catchy pop song for the clubs that is also
doing good in parts of Europe. Karamanti has also recorded for Toronto
based label, Across De Traxx Records and that is just to name a few.
Though she is regarded as a reality artist, Karamanti has no problems stepping outside her box from time to time and engaging listeners in what she refers to as pure entertaining rhetoric. This is what she did on her single “don’t it” which was produced by Red Boom from Hard at Work Music, a Jamaica based record label.
The track exposed her to a different audience who overwhelmingly insisted on a video, which was produced and released to TV in May 2012. Karamanti spent the month of July engaged in a nationwide media tour which had her performing and/or being interviewed on all the major entertainment radio and TV programs in Jamaica.
That media tour was followed up with a Canadian tour which saw her hitting the stage on major events such as the Montreal Reggae Festival and the Toronto Rasta Festival.
fter returning to Jamaica, Karamanti learnt that a single she had
recorded for Food Palace Music months earlier, was now released and had
gained traction. The song, which is called “read”, had DJs from both
Jamaica and overseas requesting to interview her on their radio
programs. It has even captured the attention of one of the biggest
promoters in Europe who has now booked Karamanti for her first ever
European tour which is slated to take place in the months of March and
April, 2013.
In the mean time, Karamanti is keeping busy with
rehearsals as she is booked for several locally based shows as well as
some appearances in the United States of America. When she is not
rehearsing, the artist can be found in the studio recording new
material.

Dancehall artist Karamanti has made the subject of religion the central theme in her just released music video, Walkout.
Shot
approximately two weeks ago in the Seaview Gardens community in
Kingston, Jamaica, the visuals show the artist passionately performing
her song (which is essentially a conversation with God) while clips of a
documentary about Catholic Bishops sexually abusing children, Holy wars
between Israel and Palestine, and Muslims worshiping are slipped in.
According
to Karamanti, the video was inspired by the recent news of new
allegations of additional sexual abuse by elders in the Catholic church.
