Junior Kelly
Reggae singer Junior Kelly is back home in Jamaica after a very successful fall European tour, which kicked off last October in Amiens, France. Even hurricane Sandy hitting Jamaica, weather conditions grounding flights and closing the Island airports couldn’t put a damper on him. He remained in high spirit and great energy.
Kelly departed as soon as the country airport in Montego Bay reopened on the Thursday, October 25 late evening right before his Friday, October 26 performance. With no time to spare as he landed, Junior Kelly was up for his meet and greet, press and straight to his scheduled performance.
Full of energy, good form and positively great vibes, Junior delivered his hits to the delight of eager fans. Taking the crowd on a melodic musical journey with classic songs such as “Love So Nice” to his latest hit “Been There” video. The tour took Kelly and his band through the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
Reflecting on his tour Junior stated, “The energy and vibe i received from the fans during this tour was truly amazing and humbling and it was heart warming to see that people out there are still crying out for conscious music, my music, Reggae music”
“Its really beautiful to see three generations of people coming out to my concerts and enjoying and loving Reggae music, so i know it will live on”
“I really appreciate the fact that i am able to perform every day of the week and the fans came out in their numbers every night to listen to Reggae music, even in these harsh economic times when buying a concert ticket is so hard. These die-hearted fans in Europe are mainly from the poorer class of society and they have so many other choices in terms of artistes or food or paying a bill, but they come out because they see me as one of the young roots artistes whose messages make them feel good and one that is going to stand the test of time. It is truly a blessing and an honor.”
