JOP Deejay Deablo Changes Name & Releases Inspirational Video
PRISM MARKETING CONSULTANTS || OCTOBER 1, 2015 || After releasing two major projects earlier this year, a mixtape dubbed ‘Grainz Out’ accompanied by a visual documentary ‘Spain Town’ showcasing snippets of life in the St. Catherine capital. Aidonia’s lieutenant Deablo continues to make strategic moves aimed at bolstering his presence both in the local and international space.
The deejay in recent times has been fostering the idea of a rebranding exercise amid a name change. That idea became reality over the weekend has the artiste born Romeo Nelson took the bold step of officially changing his stage name to ‘Govana’. When quizzed about the new moniker the 4th Genna Music recording artiste says it’s something he has been contemplating for a long time and finally decided to take the leap of faith.
“Everyone knows me as Deablo, some also refer to me as the ‘Govana’ but this is the new name I will be using going forward and eventually with a good marketing campaign everyone will adapt and become reacquainted . However, I decided the change was necessary as I am no longer comfortable with the diabolical connotation attached to my first moniker even though I still do hardcore music. It is very important to acknowledge that the name an artiste adapts says a lot about how he’s perceived and I personally believe I have transcended that name musically don't forget we Govern the girls plus I am the Spanish Town and 4th Generation Govana so the name is only fitting.” – Govana said.
Along with the new moniker Govana has released a very inspirational video for the single ‘No Complaining’ produced on the E5 Records imprint. The official video which features cameos from Aidonia, Popcaan, Dre-Island and Versalite among others also premiered over the weekend via his VEVO channel (youtube.com/GovanaVEVO) the visuals were shot by Short Films Jamaica throughout the enclaves of St. Catherine and its environs.
Elaborating on the way forward Govana says fans can expect to see a lot more from him both musically and visually as an aggressive promotional campaign is afoot for ‘No Complaining’ and also to reacquaint the fans with his new stage persona.
