Ontario, California emcee/producer duo Jook & Pro present the Original Knockoff-directed music video for their new single "In Charge", featuring singer Rebellion. "In Charge" will appear on the duo's forthcoming album, The Rebirth Of Jook The First, set to feature Jamaican reggae artist Kelissa.
Better known as MC Prototype, Pro is a national slam poet, Paid Dues alumni and educator who assembled a team of musicians to create the live instrumentation that forms the backbone of The Rebirth. He has collaborated with California underground artists like 2Mex, Scarub, Trek Life and Cookbook of LA Symphony (stream the Chasing Dreams EP on Bandcamp).
"I guess you can say 'In Charge' is my way of saying 'I'm here, this is what I'm about, get used to it'," Jook says. "During the writing process I was trying to envision a music video to go along with the lyrics. It felt like I was writing a movie script and that was such a powerful and inspirational tool for me. I used it throughout the rest of the album."
