Jon Wayne & The Pain Release - New Video and Album
FROM HEROIN to HERO JON WAYNE & THE PAIN BAND RELEASE NEW CD and MUSIC VIDEO, while DONATING a PORTION of ALL CD'S SOLD to MUSICARES; the very FOUNDATION that SAVED LEAD VOCALIST, JON WAYNE'S LIFE.
~Homeless, helpless and strung out, the then 27 year old singer Jon Wayne, of Jon Wayne and the Pain fought for his life and reached to MusiCares for support. The rest is JWP history~
Minneapolis, MN. February 24, 2017 - The Twin-Cities, Minnesota based national touring "DubTronic" band Jon Wayne and The Pain (JWP) announce their February 24th release, distributed through Zojak Worldwide, of their fourth highly evolved album, Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe. To commemorate the release, they also dropped their newest music video
The album release kicked-off with a hard release CD party held on January 21 at the famed First Avenue - Mainroom in Minneapolis. Support acts included Jason Hann of The String Cheese Incident, West Coast Hip-Hop legend ZION I and local Hip-Hop group, Crunchy Kids. More than 800 attendees were in the crowd for the epic launch. The band has committed to donating one dollar from each CD sale to MusiCares; the very foundation that saved the life of lead vocalist, Jon Wayne.
"MusiCares provided the funding for me to receive treatment. In 2008, I was living on the streets, homeless in South Minneapolis - was legitimately penniless and heavily strung out on Heroin and addicted to alcohol. I was living for my next fix. Had it not been for the foundation's generous contribution to my recovery, I would have not only lost my music career, yet more importantly my life. Today, at 35, I'm happily married, heavily touring with my band and progressing as a musician and a person. Giving back with this new album and continuing to sponsor addicts, is the least I can do," says Jon Wayne.
The DubTronic four-piece crew, includes Jon Wayne (lead vocals/acoustic guitar), Weston Schick (sax/flute/keys/electric wind instrument/vocal), Chuck T "Pappa" Torgerson (bass/synth/dub effects) and Teeto Miller on drums and vocals. JWP are best known for innovating acoustic-electronic dub, heightened with conscious lyrics and intricate jams.
Their 2013 released album, Surrender acts as a testimony of their highly evolved new album, Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe. The album introduces a new style of acoustic-electronic dub music, by incorporating electronic wind instruments, acoustic guitar, with bass, dub-electro centric electrifying keys, heavy hitting drums and a splash of Hip-Hop with the track "Helpful" featuring Zion I.
The band, respected for their captivating live shows, deliver a jaw-dropping quartet with an impressive light show, executing massive bass sounds. The song "Thankful," along with their new music video showcases best their electronic-dub goods.
"Thankful" Music Video, from Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe
The album is reflective of JWP's past reggae-centric music, yet incorporates a super-fusion of electronic, acoustic and jam elements. The band aims to be messengers of goodness with social commentaries that elevate the state of the current times.
The band has gained the respect of industry executives and fellow musicians, across many genres and have recently performed with Nahko, Trevor Hall, Cas Haley, Zion I, Wookiefoot and Keller Williams and have performed at California Roots Festival, Electric Forest, Shangri-La, Summer Camp and Wakarusa to name a few.
The collection of older albums, along with Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe and new merch is available for purchase at each show, as well as available online.
