Jamaican Publicist Debuts New Entertainment based TV Show
Well known Jamaican publicist Susan Smith has embarked on a new path for 2020 and is now the host of a brand new entertainment-based show called AreaCode.
The intention of this show is to provide a platform for up and coming acts to showcase their talents as well as established ones.
“AreaCode is very dear to me; I have loved music all my life, but since I cannot sing nor deejay I decided to put my gift of communication to good use. I want to use this platform to enlighten artistes as well as provide fresh content for audiences,” expressed Susan.
The first show was released on the 24th of December via YouTube and can also be seen on Hype TV.
“So far the feedback has been pretty good and I know it can only get better from here. I also want to take the time out to thank all the guests that passed through; big thank you to Junior Reid, Cara Vickers, TallUp, Ch4se and Blakkman for assisting me in making a memorable first show. Also special thanks to my main sponsors Zojak World Wide and Bloozick Filmworks for their continued support, not to mention my amazing team.”
AreaCode has been hailed for its fresh approach to entertainment and while it showcases exciting performances, the focus is primarily on building awareness about the business aspect of music.
“Jamaican artistes are so talented but it’s just a shame that so many of them are not taken seriously on the international market simply because of the lack of professionalism. Artistes need to have proper representation and to be more knowledgeable about the music business, because it goes a far way,” she expressed.
Susan Smith has been a publicist for the past 7 years and the proud owner of the reputable PR Company Powerhouse Global Media, for the past 4 years. She has represented quite a few known acts such as Sly &Robbie, Julian Marley, Anthony RedRose, Mr. Lexx, Junior Reid and the list continues. For 2020 and beyond she will continue to push the envelope in making positive changes in the music industry.
