IKALAY CONTINUES TO SPREAD LOVE
Young talented Portland Jamaican born Reggae vocalist, Ikalay Robinson, is ramping up the promotion of her debut single released officially earlier this year. The single ‘Spread Love’ expresses inner feelings towards the world at large including her beautiful Island Jamaica.
Ikalay’s fundamental message is the single is purely confirmation that the solution to challenges is simply showing love and believing that it is a universal language.
“Positive vibration and good meditation will conquer all. Jamaica is such a beautiful place and yet there is so much pain and poverty as well as violence against women and children. Let us not let that distract us from the goodness that exists, and if we continue to pour love into all the hate then we can change the balance,” Ikalay shared.
Ikalay’s unique style and versatile sound gives a different flow to what could be a standard tourist board anthem sounding single; identifying the negative elements in dub step fashion while still completing a contemporary reggae ballad sounding track. The twenty-one-year-old singjay was elated to perform the single for the first time at an exclusive Father’s Day event in Kingston Jamaica last month.
“It was a great experience performing my single for the first time for the patrons at Reggae For Breakfast at Hope Gardens on Father’s day. It was so well received that I’m just excited to put out more music and do more performances very soon,” Ikalay added
With visuals already out for the single as well as audio on all major digital platforms, Ikalay and her team are focusing on promoting the track as well as recording additional material to complete an EP later this year.
