Guidance Rocks Dancehall with Shamballa single
April 13, 2022 Kingston Jamaica Reggae recording artiste Guidance is making the effort to highlight dancers in the dancehall fraternity with his latest effort Shamballa Rock featuring dancers; Energy Di Dancer, Boysie Roses and Real Flava.
The artiste who has been in the industry as a Reggae act for over a decade got his breakout hit in 2008 with Love What You Got; now however he is dabbling in dancehall with Shamballa Rock inspired by the dance move done regularly by popular industry player Shamballa.
"Dancers Energy and Boysie Roses told me about Shamballa and his dance move and that’s where I got the idea. The dance move is easy so anyone can do it so I felt it needed a catchy tune to give it a boost, plus these dancers have been contributing to dancehall for decades and deserve the opportunity to shine, “Guidance shared
Guidance however doesn’t want to be labeled as a dancehall artiste and has not abandoned reggae music because of the success of Shamballa Rock. He just wants to create fun music and good vibes that everyone can dance to and enjoy.
"Once the music is positive I will endorse it, I consider myself a Jamaican artiste and I allow the riddim itself to motivate my creativity. I’m open to Dancehall, Reggae, Afrobeat or anything that gives positive energy," Guidance added
Shamballa Rock has been receiving rave reviews since its release earlier this year, including good radio rotation as well as in the streets of Jamaica. The world has also caught on to the song and dance move pumped by the music video directed by Christopher Bird.
The single Shamballa Rock is produced by New York-based label Kerron Records which has also produced Guidance’s latest single featuring Big Wayne, Energy Di Dancer and Boysie Roses, called Call In The Money.
Reviving older riddims has become a trend lately, ever since Rvssian did it with his 2010 compilation Go-Go Club Riddim and rebranded it as the Dutty Money
Jamaican social media influencer turned recording artist, Delly Fever, has released her second track for 2024 called “Face Card”. It was produced by Chambah
Samora, the reggae-pop-afrobeat-dancehall diva from Suriname, is proving to the world why she’s the Best New Artist in the Reggae category winner at last
