Germany is mostly known for its football but Germany reggae music culture is also a major player in this European country.
This country also boosted a lot of artistes and Top sound system. (Click to read more about their sound systems).
Most dancehall and reggae fans worldwide are familiar with an artiste who goes by the stage name "Gentleman".
Given the name "Tilmann Otto" at birth in Osnabruck. He fell in love with this genre of music from around the age of sixteen and decided to visit Jamaica the home of Dancehall and reggae music which he did and has now called it his second home.
Unlike Jamaica which has more than 500 sound system, Germany Reggae Music Industry currently has more than 40 Top systems.
They have the same vibes, plays the same type of dubplate as the ones here in Jamaica and are also involved in

They have also played at major festivals across the world. These systems plays mostly
dancehall and reggae music.
Across the world every year reggae festivals are kept. Jamaica has "Sum fest" and "Irie Jamboree" is held in the United States of America. Their annual festival is the "Summer jam" and it was last held in March of 2010.
Top acts on this year were UB40, Anthony B, Glen Washington, Sly & Robbie and Bunny Wailer.
The festival was held at Fuhlinger See in Koln Cologne and this was the 24th Staging.

A summer of music festivals is under way across Europe - and in Germany
the reggae festival line-ups are attracting huge attention.
But
it is not just Jamaican artists filling the stages - many of the shows
have also featured home-grown German reggae bands and artists.
These
so-called 'Germaicans' have embraced Jamaican culture and Rasta
beliefs, and are appealing to a new generation of young Europeans - many
of whom are disillusioned with the status quo.
