Dre Blunt, Kalechi Noel team up for 'Money Talk' music video
Jamaican-born dancehall entertainer Dre Blunt is making major moves in advancing his music career with his latest partnership with US-based music video director Kalechi Noel, his video, 'Money Talk', that will be released this summer.
Noel is the CEO and music-video director of Kaon Multimedia Company, based in New York.
50 Cent, Lil' Kim and Wacka Flocka are among entertainers the international director has worked with. He is also an award-winning film director who has done movies such as This Is Our Secret and Crazy Love.
According to Dre Blunt, this latest move is one of many geared towards expanding his brand appeal in the market, while setting a precedence on the direction of his career.
"With the materials I am working on and the type of deals being made, it is going to be something special this year. I developed a loyal fan base from the days of 'Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall' and 'Tastee Talent Trail', that has grown significantly since then. But I'm not complacent. The work continues and I will continue to push," the entertainer revealed.
Dre Blunt, real name Andre Lee, placed third in the 2010 Tastee Talent Trail competition. He also made it to the live show of 'Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall,' in 2009. Since then, he has gone on to work with Pakistan-born producer Anik 'Influence' Sheik, Buju Banton's son, Marcus Myrie, among other notable producers, who also helped to diversify his musical skills.
A new single, Pretty Body, that Dre Blunt worked on with Kef Records, was leaked recently but received good rotation on radio and social media.
Popular video blogger Kevin, from the Kevin2wokrayzee YouTube channel, parodied Send Me A Pic that featured the song and amassed more than 12,000 views in a week.
