Dayz Dunn EP Feat. Billiblade 'Rise Up' is now on iTunes
BilliBlade, a Jamaican Reggae artist now residing in Florida, felt the need to speak out against the “Stand Your Ground” law as it seems to not protect black victims.
The crime rate in Florida has seen more violence against teenagers with no criminal records being fatally shot just because of the color of their skin. “Rise Up” is based on these recent insurgents against African-Americans and teenagers in his home state of Florida and the controversial “Stand Your Ground” law.
“Rise Up”, implores to all that “...this is a call to action, lift up your voices…” against such vicious acts and for people to “...stand up and say something…”, not just sit by or stay on the side lines, allowing this injustice to take root and materialize, as seen in the Trayvon Martin incident and the “loud music” shooting in Jacksonville; that the “Stand Your Ground” law seems to be slowly manifesting itself into a form of ‘21st century lynching’.
“Rise Up”, officially released on August 13, 2014, touches nerves but that is needed to get society aware of its flaws. It is the first single off the “Dayz Dunn” EP which was released on iTunes the same day.
This EP was produced by BilliBlade himself for his Orcamusic Entertainment label, which includes several Dancehall tracks and features three upcoming talents, namely Invinsible, Lawzah Blazah and Andy Frass. Expect a lot more new music from BilliBlade and his label. BilliBlade will have more new music dropping soon in August.
