Dancehall Week Ends On a High Note
The inaugural staging of Magnum Dancehall Week 2024 ended on a high note with the execution of an incident free Dancehall Street Parade and after party in Kingston Jamaica on Sunday.
The Street Parade from Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre to the Mas Camp Village, definitely drew attention, as the large parade comprising of seven trucks, made its way through the corporate area showcasing authentic dancehall vibe and energy.
"The support has been great for our first staging and we would like to thank everyone who made the DANCEHALL WEEK 2024 series of events and the STREET PARADE possible; special thanks goes out to the Government agencies that endorsed us and offered waivers or subsidies; our Sponsors MAGNUM, ESSENTIAL DISCOUNT-MART, CLEARSOUND, BOOM and HITZ FM who all bought into our dream of celebrating Dancehall in this manner. Not everything went exactly as we planned, but that can be expected with an execution of this magnitude, and we feel it was a great start and we look forward to an even greater execution next year:" Dave Goldson, Executive Director of DANCEHALL WEEK, shared
Artistes, sponsors, media, members of the dancehall fraternity and patrons came out in large numbers to support the celebration of DANCEHALL during the Street Parade; an official Reggae Month feature.
A major stop during the parade was at Mandella Park in Half Way Tree which culminated with a high energy and animated performance by Tanto Blacks. The team from Dancehall Week 2024 are appreciative and pleased that the hard work has borne fruit, highlighting the Dancehall genre in grand fashion.

Dancehall Week 2024 was staged from February 13 -19 in Kingston Jamaica celebrating the love of the Genre worldwide.
