Dancehall artiste Sean Paul to perfrom in India in November 2012

Jamaican dancehall and reggae artiste Sean Paul has confirmed plans to pay his maiden visit to India in November this year for a series of full-fledged concerts in different cities.


The visit is being planned around Diwali and the concerts will be based on the theme of the Festival of Lights, the organisers Blue Note Entertainment said in a press release today.

The 39-year-old Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, who performs under the stage name Sean Paul, will give his fans an exclusive taste of a never seen before musical extravaganza, it said.

The highly successful and multi-platinum selling artiste from Kingston has had three Billboard #1 singles and five Billboard Hot 100 top ten tunes with over 110 lakh album sales worldwide.

He has had even more chart entries over three worldwide best-selling albums, which have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and earned him a Grammy Award.

His hit studio albums include Stage One (2000), Dutty Rock (2002), The Trinity (2005), Imperial Blaze (2009) and Tomahawk Technique (2012).

Mr. Prashant Kumar, Director Operations, Blue Note Entertainment, said, “India is a huge market for international artistes and we aim to capitalize on this opportunity by delivering professionally managed concerts that appeal to the modern youth. A lot of artistes talk about 'staying on the grind', but few work harder than Sean Paul. He has done much more than any other dancehall artist to bring the dedicated sound of Kingston to new audiences around the world. Moreover an artist like Sean Paul is much loved across the globe
and after a research of over one year we decided to bring him down to India. We are working towards concerts in Dubai and Nepal apart from India for Sean Paul and have received stupendous response.”

Mr. Fardeen Shirazi, Creative Head, Blue Note Entertainment said, “We are strategizing on a concept based on Diwali and interestingly our stage set-up and décor will comprise mirrors, lights and crystals, something that hasn’t been explored before in India. We will also be using international dancers on stage to add a global touch and make it look like one big party as seen internationally at most concerts. We can assure you that his concerts will be mind-blowing and electric and we promise to give all his fans in India a night to remember.”

Speaking from across the globe, Sean Paul confirmed the news, “It’s your boy Sean and you heard it straight from me - India get ready for my live show. The wait is finally over and now for the first time ever, I’m excited to bring my live show to India. The Indian edition of Sean Paul Live In Concert is being presented and managed by Blue Note Entertainment, a company that specializes in film promotions, exhaustive artiste management, corporate events and destination weddings and is now foraying into the concert space for the irst time.
