Class One Music Co. presents TOIAN - RUDE BOYS
Toian to Unveil New Single, "Rude Boys", A Retrospective Reggae Vibe Intermixing Past, Present & Future. On June 24th, Jamaican recording artist, Toian, will release "Rude Boys", the first single of a strikingly personal debut EP album consisting of six intimate songs that reflect her past experiences and are collectively fit to bear the name, Retrospect.
"Imagine Dawn Penn's, "No No No" and you'll start to get the picture", says producer & co-writer Sean Alaric (Class One Records). Toian had been writing these songs for quite some time, but kept them hidden away admitting that she originally didn't have the courage to show anybody because they didn't satisfy what her musical criteria was at the time, until one day she decided that it was about time to make a record that told her story.
The final result is a collection of six tracks with a "retrospective reggae vibe"...songs inspired by one of her favorite eras in reggae music and artists such as Barrington Levy, Super Cat, Tenor Saw and Dawn Penn.
Alaric recorded Rude Boys with the individual musicians & sound engineers (including Richie Barr on bass, Leo Boland strumming live guitar & Nico Rebel of Rebel Kulcha Studios who mixed the single) which contributed to the EP's authentic nostalgia. He recalls the experience saying, "it was exciting working on something fresh and experimenting with the live instruments. The outcome is an EP album that in its entirety stays true to the vision and personality of the artist. Everyone feels really psyched about our achievement; this debut EP album is a milestone for all of us."
Rude Boys is available for pre-order globally as of June 10th via the iTunes music store.
The official release takes place on June 24th during which the music video will be premiered online through Vevo and will also be available at the official website www.itstoian.com
