BritJam Music Festival on hold for 2018
The incomparable annual week long party series, Britjam Music Festival, held in Montego bay St James is set to go on a one year hiatus for 2018.
The seven day spring break festival has over the years built its reputation as the trendsetting international spring break party series, positively contributing to the tourism industry of Jamaica over the 8 years it has been successfully staged.
The project has also brought international acts to Jamaica including; Rob Kardashian, Black Chyna, Ginuwine, Bernice Burgos, Young MA and others.
The event, owned and operated by Good Good Production CEO Evan Zum Powell, will be taking a year’s hiatus as preliminary work to be done for the 2018 staging cannot be executed while Zum is still recovering from injuries he sustained after he was shot in an incident this summer.
"Britjam is a very hands-on project for me and because of my recovery I have not been able to be up and down as needed. I believe if something can't be done properly then it's better to pause until it can" Zum shared
The project is set to return in 2019 even bigger and better than the past eight years, with plans on exceeding expectations threefold.
"BritJam is always creative and is always doing something new, bringing new faces to Jamaica. Fans can expect 19 new things for 2019" Zum added
Fans and patrons of the festival also should not fear that this is the start of the end of Britjam, even though other annual events have been postponed and eventually were cancelled completely; this is not the case with BritJam Music Festival.
"Nothing in life is guaranteed because i really never intended to postpone next year’s event but it is necessary to do it. Once there is health and strength then BritJam will definitely be back in 2019," Zum reassured
In the meantime Zum is focusing on his current Good Good Production music projects. His Money Mix riddim is doing extremely well and he is set to release Vybz Kartel’s 'Poco Man Scank' and Marvin and Nickesha’s 'Clean & Fresh" official videos from the project.
The artiste officially signed to the Good Good Production label, Yanique Curvy Diva, is also doing extremely well with a certified hit single 'Lifestyle' on the Money Mix project. The label has plans for additional singles for the Curvy Diva along with an upcoming tour in 2018 after she returns from performances in Africa and London this December.
