Bramma Triumphs At Portland's Beach Carvingz
Since 2014 Dancehall artiste Bramma ‘Di Gorilla’ has been enjoying an upsurge in popularity with a triad of singles such as ‘Have Dis’, ‘Cha Cha Bwoy’ and ‘Wah Gwaan Mi Darlin’ and recently delivered an energized performance at this summer’s staging of Portland’s Beach Carvingz in Port Antonio.
The celebrations held to commemorate fellow deejay Versatile birthday saw a mass influx of patrons invading the shores of the picturesque Shanshy Beach to see their favourite artistes in action. With an impressive billing featuring the likes of Aidonia, the Big Ship Family among other top acts fans were definitely in for a musical treat.
True to form the Gorilla Boss did not disappoint delivering a performance encompassing hits like Some People, Cha Cha Bwoy and ‘Trust People’, earning him some of the biggest forwards of the night to close off a commendable set to the hundreds in attendance.
“I’m very thankful for the reception and support the people of Port Antonio and the surrounding communities gave me, it just shows that the work is being done and the music is getting out there. Much respect to Versatile and all the other artistes that performed it was a joy to see the unity on stage and the people enjoying themselves.” – Bramma said in a statement to the media.
Meanwhile the S-Lock Entertainment recording artiste is busy promoting his latest single ‘Birds Of A Feather’. The acoustic presentation produced by the aforementioned showcases the dichotomy of his musical artistry complimented by the art of great storytelling, an art form seldom seen in modern day Dancehall.
“As an artiste you have to explore new avenues and sounds if you intend to grow musically. I want to do something different I can’t be singing the same type music every day. Hence the need to broaden my horizon.”
Now available on iTunes, Bramma annexed that plans are also afoot to shoot an official video amid the release of a new single on Stephen McGregor’s ‘Jump Out Rhythm’ dubbed ‘Run Bout Yah’.
