Bramma & S-Lock Family Tops The Chart With ‘Have Dis’
After declining a lyrical challenge from resurgent deejay Mr. Peppa citing him as an unworthy opponent seeking attention, Dancehall artiste Bramma ‘Di Gorilla’ is solely focused on upping his profile as the start of summer approaches.
The S-Lock recording artiste last weekend scored his second career No.1 on the CVM-TV Hitlist video chart show with ‘Have Dis‘ an audacious street anthem featuring label-mates and newcomers: Idus, Diamond, RP, X-File and Krucial. Ironically the song sees the group declaring themselves as the most potent musical outfit and warns potential contenders to stay clear of lyrical confrontation.
Enjoying heavy rotation in the Dancehall space, Bramma credits the success of ‘Have Dis’ to the aggressive campaign currently in effect.
“every night me and my team hit the streets and we campaign hard with that and other songs, so it’s very rewarding to see the people taking notice and have spoken with their voice and votes”. – Bramma said.
Clinching the top spot is also another major achievement not just for Bramma but for S-Lock Entertainment and its batch of new talent (Idus, RP, Diamond, Krucial & X-File) as it marks their first official No.1 as a label. A sentiment shared by the ‘Gorilla Dreadlocks Rasta‘ singer.
“Right now it’s a great look for the camp to put out their first official single and get this kind of feedback, it demonstrates what can be achieved with hard work and determination, it’s just the beginning of great things to come” – Bramma added.
Only weeks earlier Bramma enjoyed similar success with the Stephen McGregor produced ‘Cha Cha Bwoy‘ on the Mad World rhythm which is currently No.1 in Kenya and San Diego, California on their respective Reggae charts.
Meanwhile, in the coming weeks the S-Lock deejay is expected to release a video for the Chimney Records produced ‘Wah Gwaan Mi Darlin’ featured on the Rising Sun rhythm compilation amid promotion the new singles ‘Birds Of A Feather’. Plans are currently in high gear for an upcoming Caribbean tour this summer which will entail the artiste and his team blanketing the Diaspora with their brand of music.
