Blingz Aims To Make His Mark In Dancehall
Hailing from the sunshine city of Portmore burgeoning Dancehall artiste Troy Casey more popularly known by the moniker ‘Blingz’ is intent on making his mark in the Jamaican Dancehall space. The artiste originally from Spanish Town has been steadily carving out a niche for himself since emerging on the scene two years ago with the song ‘Back It Up’.
After gaining some level of success locally Blingz along with his friends ‘Kutti’ and ‘Tempa’ took the initiative to form their own independent record label, Enemy Line Records (ELR). The label currently boasts a five member compliment and remains the platform which continues to nurture his career. Since then he has released a 17-track compilation titled ‘Element Of Surprise’ to favourable reviews from the Dancehall populous.
Driven by the support of a solid team Blingz’s career continues to experience upward mobility complimented by a surfeit of songs namely ‘Pole Dancer’, ‘Go Dung’ and ‘Bubble’. In 2014 he released ‘Follow Instruction’ an infection anthem for the ladies which gained him a radio interview with Robbo Ranx of the esteemed Britain-based BBC 1xtra. He was also afforded the opportunity to travel and perform on the continent on numerous occasions.
Reflecting on his journey Blingz in a statement to the media says, “I want to thank everyone who continues to support my music and also that of other young talents, right now fans can look out for a lot more new material in the months ahead. We just putting in the work to keep fans entertained while building the brand.”
Now fully focused on upping the ante for the summer Blingz has released an official video for ‘Follow Instruction’ bolstered by numerous public appearances. Last weekend he delivered a spirited performance at the ‘Summer Is Here’ concert held at Bob Marley Beach, Bull Bay, St. Andrew, the event was hosted by Portmore’s Suncity FM.
