Blaqksheep Music Pushes Back with Brazilian Funk infused Single!
With the release of the brand new single from Blaqksheep Music, Dancehall has again been fused with World Music. The single ‘Push Back by RDX is a cross between Baile funk (Brazilian funk) and Dancehall’s authentic drum patterns.
Produced by Blaqksheep Music, who also produced RDX’s girl’s inducer ‘Ride It’ in 2013, the single ‘Push Back’ is another execution that shows the Duo’s willingness to explore music of all forms and origins.
“I can’t even say step out the box because we were never in the box in the first place. RDX and I share similar views on how we see and hear music so that makes it easy for us to work and make hits”. Blaqksheep explained.
The producer was also the mastermind behind hits for artistes such as Busy Signal – ‘Da Style She Want’, Spice – ‘Twerk’, and the controversial track from Gage – ‘One Gal’. The Baile Funk inspired ‘Push Back’ single is yet another addition to the long list of beats including; EDM, Afro beats and Dub Step; that BlaqkSheep has fused with Dancehall.
”
The single was inspired whilst RDX and Blaqksheep traveled back and forth on tour to the French islands.
“We were in Paris and heard the Brazil funk songs and the ladies went wild. We asked ourselves, how can women be going wild and RDX not included? We called BlaqkSheep at 1am and he started working on the track immediately” Renigade explained
Blaqksheep sees this ‘Push Back’ Single breaking barriers by merging Brazil with Jamaica musically, even though both countries speak different languages. He strongly believes both will understand the beat and also hopes that the single will make it to the top of charts in non English speaking countries.
Blaqksheep also has exciting projects on the horizon; A juggling riddim project called SWAHILI which features RDX, Raytid, Busy Signal and Gage, will be released in a matter of weeks, as well as an acoustic track with Sizzla entitled ‘The System’.
RDX is enjoying success with their recent singles ‘Linky’ and ‘Mr. VSOP’ especially with the release of corresponding videos for both singles.
Newer tracks “Lie To Me” and ‘Pull Up Selecta’ are gaining momentum and will see unique promotional blueprints this month. RDX and BlaqkSheep are set to tour Europe and parts of South America this summer.
