Beenie Man resting after Zika and Dengue Diagnosis


Beenie Man is at home recuperating after being diagnosed with both the Dengue Fever and the Zika Virus.


A representative of Beenie’s team tells Music News that the dancehall deejay has canceled a string of events slated for this weekend.

When Beenie Man first began feeling ill last Thursday, it prevented him from performing in Bermuda while he was unable to finish his set at an event in Tortola.

The King of the Dancehall is hoping to make a full recovery ahead of a string of performances slated for Japan on August 9.

Music News understands that Beenie Man who was ordered by doctors to rest for at least a week is responding positively to treatment.

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne illness that is spread by the Aedes species of mosquito, the mosquito also responsible for the transmission of dengue and chikungunya viruses.

Beenie Man also missed his performance at Drake’s OVO Fest on Saturday night in Toronto due to visa issues. He was replaced by Mavado, Sean Paul and Kranium.
