Pioneers of reggae music in their own right, artistes Mr Vegas and Barrington Levy have teamed up for another hit titled Love The Way She Love Me.
Both had previously worked together on Vegas' Sweet Jamaica album and have now released Love The Way She Love Me, a dancehall/reggae love song which will be featured on Levy's latest album License to Thrill.
According to Vegas, the song was recorded several years ago, but had been misplaced.
"We always thought this would be a good song so we linked up with Clevie from Steely and Clevie. Barrington Levy is one of my inspirations. It's always a pleasure working with him," Vegas told The Gleaner.
Levy also echoed this sentiment, telling The Gleaner Vegas exudes professionalism.
"Vegas is my bredrin. He is respectful of the veterans in the business. He is not like the new hot head ones. Him is a bonify yute and one that respect persons who paved the way," Levy said.
Levy added that it was necessary to do this song to prove that dancehall can be classy.
"Dancehall doesn't have to be about sex, guns and disrespect. It can also be clean and presentable."
The music video for Love The Way She Love Me premiered last week. In the meantime, Levy says fans can catch him in action at this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest.
Vegas, who recently copped two International Reggae and World Music Awards for Song of the Year for Sweet Jamaica and Video of the Year for Bruk It Dung, is also gearing up for a tour of the West Coast and will head to Europe in August for the reggae festivals. He is also currently working on two new albums.
The first album will be a dance album titled Bruk It Dung 2.0, while the second will be an inspirational album.
