US-based independent record label AC Money Records is getting ready for a big marketing push with the release of an album dubbed 'An Dem Fi Know', by dancehall artiste, beatmaker and label head honcho AC Money. This will be his debut album.
The AC Money Records label was founded by AC Money a few years ago as he pursued his dream to make music. He explained that he was inspired to create the name using the initials of his six-year-old daughter.
"AC Records signifies 'an Ability To Create Millions', and that is what I want to do, use my God-given talents to generate money and make dreams come true," the chief executive officer of AC Money Records said.
"We're the new generation that don't criticise or segregate our music ... we use hip hop, reggae-dancehall, rap, rock n roll, R & B ... it doesn't matter. Music is music and if you're doing music it's important to love music in general."
AC Money is a triple threat because, in addition to being an artiste in his own right, he writes and produces as well. He grew up in Jamaica, his family moving several times from Red Hills Road in Kingston, to Spanish Town, and then finally to Hellshire in Portmore, St Catherine, where he settled for a few years. As a teenager, he began experimenting with making beats. when he immigrated to the US at 16, he continued to pursue his dream.
That dream has finally come to
life with the release of the album, An Dem Fi Know. The bouncy lead single, The Girls Dem, features label-mate rookie female rapper Bad Gal Shawnte and deejay L Razor, and will be released this month.
"The song sell off, the feedback from the US disc jocks has been so great that we went ahead and shot the video, and it looks great," he said, adding the video will be released globally at the end of February.
Other outstanding singles from the 14-track LP include the saucy Bruck And CumInna featuring veteran DJ Penny Irie. AC Money had a wide palette of musical influences which he showcases on the rock-influenced song, Me And God and the street anthem By The Hour Hour. These singles can be found on iTunes and all major digital download stores.
Even while pushing his own personal ambitions, AC Money believes that his recent signing, Bad Gal Shawnte, a hip hop artiste from Virginia, has the vocal dexterity to set the world of dancehall on fire, because of her ability to mix up the game with her different styles, Jamaican slangs and her sexy 'bad girl swagger'.
"I met her in the US, decided to take her under my wings, she liked the reggae music and she had the potential to kill it, so I put her in the booth and we have been making music ever since," he said.hawnte's risqué single, So Seductive, will be released as a track on AC Money's new album.
